Tantracarya Dharmanidhi Sarasvati

About the Teacher

Dharmanidhi Sarasvati, born in Chicago in 1962, was drawn to spiritual practice at an early age, an avid student of Yoga, religion and philosophy. His spiritual quest led him to a series of authentic teachers in Yoga and religious studies, and opened the way for profound spiritual experiences early in life.

In his 20s, Dharmanidhi found his root teacher, Paramahamsa Satyananda Sarasvati. After formal initiation into the Sarasvati order in 1987, Dharmanidhi then entered a ten-year period of intense practice and study under his Guru. In 1997, Dharmanidhi received formal transmission of the lineage, and direction from his Guru to transmit and preserve the teachings of classical Tantra beyond India. This became the impetus for founding Trika Institute and Jnanagni Kula.

Dharmanidhi currently serves as the Spiritual Director of Trika Institute, overseeing curriculum, instructor training and the temple program, and serving the spiritual needs of his students. He travels internationally, teaching courses around the world. Dharmanidhi currently resides with his family in Thailand at Kailash Akhara, a residential and retreat center which he founded for the study and practice of Kashmiri Shaivite Tantra and Yoga.
